Best Drums

If you are in the market for a new set of drums you have come to the right place to find out about what is hot and what is not. There an amazing amount of drumming gear available on the market and here we will give you a bit of a helping hand by letting you know what is good. First, we will cover some of the most popular brands in the drum world.

Possibly the biggest brand, certainly in terms of volume sold are Pearl. Pearl have been making many really goods kits for over 20 years. They have a range that covers just about everything from low cost beginners kits to some of the best top end kits around. Most of the stuff you can buy from pearl will put you in good sted, but for a decent beginner kit I would recommend the forum series as it's affordable, looks decent and sounds good. If you want to spend a little bit more than that then I would say go for the Pearl vision which is a mid level kit and comes with more bells and whistles, the sound is much better too and even a few top pro players are using the pearl vision out on the road during gigs and in the studio.

The top kits from Pearl are the masterworks series. If you have some serious money to spend you might consider these. You can basically create your own kit from scratch and pick every little detail such as the wood used, the shell sizes, how many shells, what kind of finish, and what the design will be. Then you have the choice of hardware as well which includes gold, chrome, or nickel hardware. It's super expensive but you get what you pay for.

Another good drums brand to consider are Yamaha. They too have many great kits and have been making kits for well over thirty years - even longer than Pearl! One of there most loved top end kits is the Yamha recording custom. It has been seen as the standard in drums for decades and has been used by many of the drum worlds greatest players both live and especially in the studio. At the mid end of the scale there is the Yamaha tour custom, and oak custom. The oak custom is clearly made from oak while the tour custom is made from maple, there is a cheaper option for budget drummers too called the stage custom. All are good kits and would get just about any drummer of to a great start.
